The people we work with in Ethiopia do not consider themselves heroes. To them, they are simply doing the right thing—either for others or for themselves. But to us, they are heroes.
It is an incredible privilege to watch such people in action, whether they are undertaking what seems like an impossible task, putting others before themselves even at the risk of their lives, or taking a stand against ancient beliefs and customs that they know will not serve them well. The people in this section may not think their lives are remarkable, but their stories tell otherwise.
