The project consists of the construction of eight classrooms for a primary school and two teachers’ residential houses as well as furnishings and supplies. Other project elements are providing one hand-dug well to ensure a nearby source of safe drinking water, tree planting in the area around the school, and providing training in water management, maintenance, hygiene, and gender equality.
The Dode Primary School project began in July 2015. It is expected to be complete in September 2017. The community is contributing to the project in cash or in kind so they are ready to take ownership of the new infrastructure when it’s complete. This exciting project will benefit 774 households and at least 250 students each year.
